The Strange Loop that Prevents Me from Uttering

Since I got my Palm Pre, I haven’t been able to use Utterli from any more. I normally send in pictures to Utterli from my phone every day. For some reason, that worked with the very first picture on my Pre but has not worked since.

My modus operandi is to take a picture and send it as an email attachment from my phone, using the email address on Utterli that IS configured here.

I have been doing that and none of the message are showing up in Utterli. I have tested the phone sending attached emails from that same address to other email accounts that DO receive them, and everything is fine. I’ve left feedback messages on Utterli, but haven’t heard from anyone yet. I know a few other people have been having some unresolved issues with Utterli lately too, so not sure if I’m part of a group that is slipping through a widening crack, or if something else is happening.

I have also tried sending images as an MMS message from my phone. Each time I do this, the MMS is converted into an email address from sprint. I get an auto reply from Utterli saying that I have to reply to the message with my phone number.

I have done that each time, and then get a MMS msg saying that my message could not be delivered "Your MSG could not be DELIVERED because Invalid Destination Account" and that seems to be for the Feedback@utterli.com account???

So I can’t send in images from my phones email, can’t send in images from MMS, and I’m feeling kind of lost.

I have to admit, I wonder if this is some kind of signal of the end for Utterli with me. I’d hate to be pushed off of a social network because of an impossible technical issue strange loop, but in general maybe that is what this is bringing me to, some kind of push over the status quo. There was a time when I was a huge advocate of this particular network, and still think it has massive potential, but Facebook has done a lot to eclipse Utterli lately. Utterli still has some massive technical advantages over Facebook, but those are all on the publishing side of the system, and the publishing side of the system has not been a priority for the Utterli team since the first year of its launch.

I understand (not really, but I accept) their decision to ignore publishing for other feature sets, but that also decreases the value add of this particular network for me.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
