Returning my G1 Today
If you are following me on Maven Mapper’s Information (my other site) you may have noticed that I purchased a T-Mobile G1 phone that is pretty much worthless.
The phone does not have the ability to import contacts! You know things like phone numbers, email, and addresses.
Kind of a big shortcoming for a ‘smart’ phone if you ask me. Not only that but the phone keeps locking up, having mini crashes and more, and that is even after it received a firmware upgrade. I talked to T-Mobile tech support and they told me I should get a crack berry, which is not going to happen. Been there and suffered through that, besides crackberries just aren’t the right tool for social media professionals.
So that leaves me waiting for either the new Palm Pre to hit the stores in quantities making it possible to ‘buy’ one or the new iPhone 3g, which I am hoping to avoid because at&t stole a $1,000 from me back in 2000 when they slammed me into a $3 per minute plan without notifying me.
That leaves me stuck on my extra simple little Nokia phone. Which at least has the ability to sync up contacts. Plus, I still have my brand new treo 700 which was the 4th or 5th replacement (new still and never used) phone. Maybe I should try and crack it and see if it can work on a different network. Without all of that garbage Verizon software, it might not be a bad phone….
