NaNoWriMo’s Turkey Problem

utterli-image
Well, I’ve realized again why NaNoWriMo is so difficult. Its schedule during the same month as Thanksgiving. How in the world is someone supposed to finish a novel in a month when you have to break up that month with 4 days of family, kids, and a 20lb turkey????

:)

All of those things are good, but they definitely make for a distracting writing environment, not to mention make it even harder to find time (unlike writing a complaint about it on a social network or blog!)

I’ve got 2 days to go and 40,222 words written with the goal of 50,000 words by midnight on 11-30.

Writing another 9,800 words is not really a big deal, but if it hadn’t been for Thanksgiving and other holiday month activities, I think I could have probably hit 80k. (quit whining Brett and get back to work)

So that’s my beef and I’m sticking to it. I will probably finish this thing today, but I’m just saying, why not some other month???
