Moving the Books
Sometime this summer, if not next week, I have to move my books. Over the last dozen or so years, I have collected quite a few books covering many different areas from fiction, science fiction and mystery books to many different reference books on finance, accounting, real estate, marketing even a little banking which has come in handy as I started writing about the subprime mortgage crisis this year offering tips on foreclosure help, financing in a tough market and more. All these books gathered during my commute in the Atlanta area and before that during my 8 years in college and other adventures in book collecting.
There was a time, when I used to commute to much, when I would stop by a book store on my way home every night to pick up more books. It was kind of a way to calm down after a long nasty commute, and I’d buy twice as many if it was a rainy drive home.
So a long story short, I have several hundred books that need to be boxed up and moved. I think I will even try and digitize some of my reference books so that I can put them through my OCR and have the information at my finger tips for rapid consultation when I need it.
