Miami Setting Books
It’s been awhile since I’ve read any good books that were set in Miami.
I’ve read a number of books set in Miami in South Florida over the years and for no apparent reason I’ve gone through bit of a dry spell. Spent five years I lived in South Florida and I guess maybe I’m missing the place little bit and I was thinking that I’d like to read some books that had their setting down in that general neck of the woods. I don’t miss the real estate market down there even though Miami real estate tends to hang tough. But I do miss the environment, the locale and the overall beauty of the place.
There’s a mystery series that I’ve read off and on throughout the years that has a detective named Archie, my libraries in a different state right now and so I can’t look at the author’s name and I can’t remember the character’s last name. I sure could go for one of those books right now though. I think one of the other characters in the book is name Binky Watrous, no idea if I spelled that correctly I think it’s a double ’s’ actually. (Watross)
Seems like the book “be cool” may have been written in that setting as well, that was written by the same guy that wrote “get Shorty” and at one point or another it has the ex-governor of Florida eating turtles and skinks in the swamps of South Florida or something like that.
