Design Improvement Needed to solve complaint with Vibram KSOs #vff

The plastic oval loop on Vibram Five Finger Toe Shoes (KSO model which stands for keep stuff out) has edges that are too sharp causing wear on the velcro buckle strap.

The velcro buckle strap should not be permanently attache (sewn to back of shoe).  It should be removable, sold as accessories in different colors even, but the functional reason to do this is to enable people to remove the straps before washing, and to replace if they fray or break.
