Love the photo! Corbin looks like Chopin! Is there a video with sound of his song? (Yes, I finally got to this - you can ignore my voicemails and emails!) I bet the song he wrote was the best one the band played and sounded fabulous!

Yeah, I have to agree with you about jumping down from things, especially when you are landing on large rocks or granite or something. I've seen a few people free running in them(on youtube) but don't know what their training secret is yet. I used to be able to leap off of semi trailers and hit the ground in combat boots with no issues but I was a lot younger then (and probably dumber too), but combat boots had pretty much zero shock absorption too, if anything probably amplified things.

I'm curious what the new bikilas might be like for jumping, especially with a little more arch support.

Hey, I just got a pair of these last week and I love them. I do parkour too and find these great for better balance, running and climbing. Only problem is that they have no shock absorbtion so i would jump off the heights that i would in normal shoes!

Thanks for your reply, its a few weeks after the original article now and things have improved significantly since this original article. Wasn't easy back then, but I do believe that it is relatively easy for casual acquaintances created or restored through sites like Facebook to grow and expand quickly before people often realize just how quickly they have developed or even how far. This particular situation moved even faster because the meeting occurred in real life first and was reinforced online, but paying attention (even though I missed a few things in the first few days which led to the 'surprise') definitely helped. I think if I had been caught up in a corporate job like I used to have several years ago, I might have missed things entirely and things might have gotten much more out of control if they had progressed for a few months or something before I had the opportunity to say, "hey this hurts!" or even "What is going on here?" :)

If she knows how you feel and respects you, she should stop this relationship. She met him on your honeymoon for god's sake, that hurts. Its not a life long firend that you are intruding on. If there are commmunicaiton problems between you tow, she should be discussing them too with you and not jus t striking up a NEW relationship. This is marriage, you both made a committement , and that take s work- not just the easy way out. Don't listen to those whoe tell you to stay out of her business- 7 out of 10 marriages fial nowadays- I htink because its just too easy to keep entertained elsewhere. Its also odd she struck up the relation on your honelymon, maybe some commitment issues there? If she is getting so attached, and its effecting you, she should demonstrate some sensitivity to that. Perhpas you should suggest some counselling- that may drive it home for her.

<blockquote>It seems that the mechanics and all the technical details of blogs and new media have become more important than the content itself.</blockquote>

I think the answer to your issue lies in your statement above. :) If you just write, you will have far fewer issues.

If you do not want to code or learn html, which you do not then you really have to paths to choose from

Path 1

You write and don't worry about fonts and colors and fancy looking custom presentations for your copy

Path 2

If you want custom fonts on each article, different color fonts, and custom presentations for picture layouts, you have to learn how to code.

WordPress, the program, serves to make publishing possible for the lowest common denominator. To ratchet things up from that lowest common level, means you are working against the fundamental programming of the software (same holds true for blogger, typepad, and almost every CMS out there).

The purpose of using these systems, (as opposed to custom coding every single (web) page that an article is present on, is so that you minimize or elliminate ALL customized efforts, and just WRITE the copy in sentences and paragraphs.

Then let WordPress and its theme worry about the presentation.

:)

(note I know we've had this conversation many times, just highlighting it for those that follow this thread in the future)

Wow. I thought my blog posts were long. Now I see they aren't. As far as the dialogue about clients experiencing pain from blog=based website issues, I think I can relate.

I am not into co-dependence either. I am also very close to just not being into blogging!

The problems with posting blogs on my own Wordpress based site have been ongoing and endless. It disheartens me to think that I have to become an expert on the mechanics of my blog in addition to being a writer. It seems that the mechanics and all the technical details of blogs and new media have become more important than the content itself.

For many like me, it's just all too much and making blogging a very undesirable thing to do!

Thanks for the well wishes. :) I haven't seen the video yet, do you have a url for it?

I'll probably find a way to make things work on the trip to Vegas. I usually do. In general, I'm just trying to vent a little more, so that I don't keep some of this bull shit inside. :)

Hey, you sound like me whining tonight! Ha! Sorry, I know it is frustrating, it just sounds a lot like my world all the time.......the wanting to go, the money there or not there, the work there or not there, the extra or in the hole......what to do.......Hope you have a great holiday! Have you seen the video of my husband's light concoction and the music?

Dear Mr Private,

Thanks for your perspective. I do agree with your advice and your insights into the situation. Emotionally the real challenge was the initial/surprise unveil. For a few weeks this was taking place, not so much behind my back, but without my knowledge of the new relationship.

So when the curtain was revealed and I learned what was happening, I didn't know how much 'further' the relationship might have grown. That made it difficult to get a perspective on just this communications/text aspect of things. It was even more difficult since they had met in person prior. I could put a face to this person in my mind, and I could envision him touching her, because I had seen it.

Now, a few weeks later, I've been able to objectively consider things a little more clearly. From a rational perspective, I always understoood what you explained above. But sometimes even knowing things intellectually, doesn't enable your rational side to cope with your emotional reaction to things especially when they are a surprise.

So from that perspective, I hope that my experience might also help others that encounter this type of thing in a surprising way. Be prepared for an onslaught of emotions and doubt, that just won't subside by thinking things through. You have to take a bunch of deep breaths and let some time slide by to get some distance between the brand new knowledge that you have gained about your spouse.
