Ran the Lab on the Porch – Two Walls for Wind Breaks
Video
Here’s the video and a couple shots of today’s Lab on the Lake. We covered the introduction to Blog Monetization in this episode. It was so windy today that I set up the studio on the porch over looking the lake to hide from the wind just a bit (dead kitten couldn’t quite keep up with the wind today).
Lab on the Lake Today
Today, I am going to attempt to do something I have never done before. Broadcast video live using Mogulus during a training class here in my wifi dock office on Lake Wylie. This is just a preview (and a test of the audio/video). We’ll see if this works. Its taking place at about 2 PM est (gathering together at 1:30) and going until 4 PM. We’ll be covering the topics of installing WordPress with Fantastico, Configuring WordPress, and building a basic WordPress Theme.
Update
The actual event went great, but the screencast of the event didn’t work.
not sure what happened but we only ended up with the webcam of me(supposed to be just a small segment in the lower corner of the screencast tutorials.

Added Seating in the Dock Office for Labs on the Lake
This week I’m going to start hosting what I’m currently calling a Lab on the Lake, a hands on tutorial/mentored training program for people in the Greater Charlotte area that are interested in learning web design, WordPress and a number of other items (more details to follow).
Well the first thing we had to do, was add seating and tables for more laptops. We made a start of it yesterday but still have more to do.
