Beach Music Stall out

I’ve been re-reading Beach Music by Pat Conroy recently. Its one of my favorite books, but I noticed that I am anticipating the book too much and that is making the read a little more difficult.  Plus, I have the suspicion that the Audible.com version I’m reading is slightly abridged, even though it is supposed to be the full version.

This is a problem I’ve run into with Audible before.  Sometimes Audible comes up with production copies that just don’t seem to have anything.  Abridged books are evil in my opinion and I really can’t stand them.

In this case, I just can’t quite tell.  Its been about 10 years since I read the book last, but I can’t check it to see if I have the whole thing or not.  Regardless the book is still very funny and again very sad.  There’s something wacky enough for just about anyone unless you are looking for something on the extra sexy side.  Despite the strong and beautiful female characters this is not a ‘Lust in the Dust’ type of book replete with bustier busting scenes and thigh high boots.
